Private Health Insurance Rebates
All private health funds recognise osteopathy and will reimburse all or part of the cost involved if it is part of your specific cover. Check with your fund to confirm your level of cover before you start your treatment.

Our clinic has HICAPS facilities, enabling you to claim directly at the time of your appointment – paying only the gap fee.

Medicare
Osteopathic treatment is not covered by Medicare unless you are eligible for the Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDMP) as determined by your GP. You will receive a rebate from Medicare if you are eligible for a CDMP.

Insurance Claims
Our clinic works with WorkSafe, TAC and Vets Affairs.

WorkSafe
When you attend your initial consultation you will need to bring:

  • A letter from your insurance company, stating that your claim has been accepted; and
  • Your claim number and the address of the insurance company (this may be listed in the letter above)

The clinic does not bill the insurer. Payment is required by the patient at the time of consultation. The patient then makes their claim directly from WorkSafe. On cancellation or withdrawal by the insurer, any outstanding fees are the direct responsibility of the patient.

TAC
When you attend your initial consultation you will need to bring:

  • Your claim number

Payment is required by the patient at the time of consultation. Claims for TAC rebate can be made directly through Lantern Pay at the time of your consultation if your claim has already been approved. Please note there will be a gap fee payable.

Veteran Affairs
For Veteran Affairs patients: payment is not required at the time of consultation, as the Clinic sends accounts directly to Veteran Affairs for processing.

DVA (Dept. Veterans Affairs) patients do need a GP referral to commence osteopathic treatment. Once eligibility is confirmed, the clinic can directly bill the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Referrals
A referral is not required by a private patient to attend an osteopath.

DVA (Dept. Veterans Affairs) patients do need a GP referral to commence osteopathic treatment. Once eligibility is confirmed, the clinic can directly bill the Department of Veterans Affairs.

The initial capacity certificate for WorkSafe and TAC must be issued by a GP, but subsequent certificates can be issued by our osteopaths.
